Teen Seriously Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash in Logan County
A two-vehicle collision involving an SUV and a motorcycle left a 16-year-old boy seriously injured Thursday evening in Logan County.
The crash occurred just before 8:30 p.m. on County Road 1, according to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office. A northbound 2015 Subaru Forester, driven by 17-year-old Casey Boyer of West Liberty, attempted to pass a tractor that was partially in the opposing lane.
During the passing maneuver, Boyer’s vehicle collided with a 2003 Honda motorcycle operated by 16-year-old Myles Sellars of Bellefontaine, who was traveling southbound. The impact caused Sellars to be thrown from the motorcycle.
Sellars, who was wearing a helmet, was transported by Macochee EMS to Union County Memorial Hospital with suspected serious injuries. Boyer sustained no injuries and was cited for improper overtaking and passing.
Authorities have not released an update on Sellars’ condition as of this report.
