PETOSKEY — An 18-year-old man died following a two-vehicle crash at Intertown and Eppler roads on Oct. 13. According to the Emmet County Sheriff’s Office, the incident was reported at 7:03 p.m.
The collision involved a motorcycle and a Toyota 4Runner. The motorcycle driver, identified as Samuel Tyler Gross, suffered fatal injuries. The driver of the 4Runner, 69-year-old Candace Jo Wynn, was taken to McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital but sustained no injuries.
Authorities indicated that speed appears to be a primary factor in the crash.
The Emmet County Sheriff’s Office, along with Emmet County EMS, the Resort Bear Creek Fire Department, and the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Police, responded to the scene. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
