Columbus, GA. – A motorcyclist died after colliding with a vehicle on Monday in Columbus, Muscogee County.
According to the Columbus Police Department, the accident happened around 4:33 p.m. near Reese Road and Macon Road.
A 57-year-old woman had been riding a motorcycle and was stopped at a red light when she was struck from behind by an SUV.
The woman was transported to Piedmont Hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.
The condition of the SUV driver was not immediately disclosed.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
