MINERAL WELLS, W.Va. (WCHS) — A motorcycle crash in Mineral Wells on Monday afternoon resulted in serious injuries and is currently under investigation.
The incident occurred around 2:41 p.m. in the 5500 block of Elizabeth Pike, according to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities reported that a pickup truck was stopped in the southbound lane when a motorcycle lost control on a curve and slid into the stopped vehicle.
The operator and a passenger were ejected during the incident, and the motorcycle collided with a pickup truck and two SUVs.
According to deputies, the passenger was struck by another vehicle and was airlifted to Charleston Area Medical Center, while the motorcycle operator was transported to Camden Clark Medical Center.
Emergency response included the Mineral Wells Volunteer Fire Department and ambulances from Camden Clark.
