Two Dead in Motorcycle Crash in Hammond
HAMMOND, LA — Two individuals died in a motorcycle crash on Thursday afternoon, according to authorities.
The incident occurred on LA-1064 around 2:41 p.m. involving two motorcycles. Emergency responders from the Hammond Fire Department and Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office arrived on the scene to provide medical aid.
Witnesses reported that both riders were thrown from their vehicles upon collision. Despite attempts at resuscitation, both were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities have not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
Authorities confirmed that the eastbound lanes of LA-1064 were closed for several hours as the crash was investigated. Towing services were also on site to remove the vehicles. No other vehicles were involved, and there were no additional injuries reported.
