One Dead in Double Motorcycle Crash in Northern Indiana

Northern Indiana—A double motorcycle crash on U.S. Route 31 left one person dead on Saturday afternoon.

According to the Indiana State Police, the incident occurred at approximately 3:15 p.m. near the intersection with State Road 10. Two motorcycles were involved, with one rider, a 30-year-old male, suffering fatal injuries. The other rider, a 25-year-old male, sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

Authorities reported that both motorcyclists were traveling southbound when the collision occurred. Initial investigations suggest that high speed may have played a role in the crash.

Emergency response teams, including local fire and EMS, were on the scene to assist. U.S. Route 31 had temporary lane closures as crews worked to clear the area.

The investigation is ongoing, and police are urging witnesses to come forward with any information. Further updates will be provided as they become available.
