LITTLE ROCK (KATV) — A motorcycle accident involving a police vehicle occurred in Mena shortly after midnight on Friday, prompting an investigation by the Arkansas State Police.
According to authorities, the incident took place at a stop sign on Mena Street. A spokesperson for the Arkansas State Police confirmed they are looking into the circumstances surrounding the collision.
Witnesses reported that a 16-year-old male motorcyclist was struck by the police vehicle as he appeared to be dismounting his bike. Eyewitness Chris Cant stated, “Motorcycle stops at the stop sign. Looks like he’s about to get off the bike, and then the police just ramp over him.”
Emergency responders were on the scene, although details regarding injuries remain unconfirmed. Investigators are actively working on gathering evidence and have not released further information at this time.
