A 37-year-old Big Rapids man was injured when a deer struck his motorcycle in Mecosta County Wednesday.
The incident occurred in the vicinity of 195th Avenue and Grass Lake Road, according to the Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office. The rider was traveling northbound on 195th Avenue when the deer collided with the right side of his motorcycle.
He sustained injuries to his right foot and ankle and sought treatment at a hospital independently.
Big Rapids City Fire and Rescue, Mecosta County EMS, and Mecosta Central Dispatch assisted at the scene, according to authorities. No vehicles were involved in the crash aside from the motorcycle, and there were no fatalities reported.
The investigation remains ongoing, and no lane closures were noted.
