SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – A nine-year-old girl from Waterloo, Iowa, died in a rollover crash in Hughes County on Saturday.
The incident occurred on July 4 near the Spring Creek Recreation Area, approximately 15 miles northwest of Pierre.
According to the South Dakota Department of Public Safety, a utility vehicle driven by a 37-year-old man from Iowa was traveling south on Spring Creek Drive when it rolled over while attempting to turn around.
A 16-year-old boy in the vehicle sustained injuries, while the driver was unharmed.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is currently investigating the crash.
