Three Killed in High-Speed Crash in Weld County
WELD COUNTY, CO – Three young men died in a rollover crash on Weld County Road 80 on Saturday, according to the Colorado State Patrol.
The incident occurred when a Chevrolet Tahoe, carrying five young adults, lost control and rolled over. The crash ejected all occupants; three men were pronounced dead at the scene.
The deceased have been identified as 20-year-old Cash Allen Rinker and 19-year-olds Jack David Dirksen and Cooper Christopher Nider, all from the Eaton area, according to the Weld County Coroner’s Office.
The 20-year-old driver from Wyoming suffered critical injuries and was airlifted to a local hospital. A 19-year-old occupant from Eaton received minor injuries.
Authorities noted that while speed may have been a factor, it has not yet been determined as the primary cause of the crash.
Eaton High School officials expressed condolences in a social media post, confirming that three of the deceased were recent graduates. Their statement emphasized sympathy for the families and the wider community affected by this tragedy.
An investigation into the crash remains ongoing. No further details about lane closures or tow operations have been released as of now.
