Daphne Man Dies in Motorcycle Crash Following Barricading Incident, Police Report.

DAPHNE, Ala. — A motorcycle crash claimed the life of 66-year-old James McMasters early Monday morning at approximately 1:20 a.m. on Alabama 181, police said.

McMasters was riding alone when he lost control and struck a tree at the intersection with Pleasant Road, according to the Daphne Police Department. Emergency responders arrived on the scene, but he was pronounced dead at the site of the accident.

Authorities confirmed that no other vehicles were involved in the incident. The crash is under investigation, and officials are awaiting an autopsy and toxicology report to determine contributing factors.

McMasters was previously in the news for a barricading incident involving threats made to himself and a neighbor, which occurred two days prior, according to local authorities. No major complaints or arrests were reported against him before this incident.

Following the motorcycle accident, multiple long guns were retrieved from McMasters’ home. Police did not elaborate on the implications of this discovery.
