Delaware State Police Launch Investigation into Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Frederica.

One man is dead following a motorcycle crash in Frederica on May 1, 2025, prompting an investigation by the Delaware State Police.

At approximately 5:38 a.m., a Ford F-150 was stopped at a stop sign on Barratts Chapel Road. Simultaneously, a Harley Davidson XLH motorcycle was traveling southbound on Old Beach Road. Authorities said the F-150 entered the intersection, colliding with the motorcycle’s path and striking the passenger side of the truck, ejecting the motorcycle’s driver.

The 37-year-old male rider from Magnolia, Delaware, was transported to an area hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. His identity is being withheld pending family notification. The driver of the F-150, a 39-year-old man from Felton, was uninjured.

Emergency responders closed the roadway for approximately 3.5 hours while the scene was investigated and cleared. The Delaware State Police Troop 3 Collision Reconstruction Unit is leading the investigation.
