Driver Arrested Following Fatal Hit-and-Run Motorcycle Incident in Maine.

One man dead in hit-and-run crash in Oxford, Maine; driver arrested.

OXFORD, Maine — A 62-year-old man died early Thursday morning in a hit-and-run incident involving his motorcycle on Route 26.

According to Oxford Police, the crash occurred at approximately 2:10 a.m. near the New Balance store and the Oxford Plains Speedway when a pickup truck struck the motorcycle, operated by Rodney Adair of New Gloucester.

The driver of the pickup, identified as 37-year-old Paul Gaudreau of Oxford, fled the scene but was apprehended by authorities within 20 minutes. He faces charges of manslaughter, Operating Under the Influence (OUI), and aggravated reckless conduct.

Emergency responders confirmed the fatality at the scene. Gaudreau is expected to appear in court later today.

Authorities have not reported any additional injuries. The incident is under investigation, and details regarding lane closures were not immediately available.
