Eagle Point motorcyclist killed in Highway 140 guardrail crash.

JACKSON COUNTY, Ore. – A motorcyclist died in a crash on Highway 140 near milepost 6 on Saturday evening.

According to Oregon State Police, the incident occurred at approximately 7:05 p.m. when Brian Jay Moore, 54, of Eagle Point, was riding a black Yamaha motorcycle westbound. The motorcycle left the roadway and collided with a guardrail.

Moore was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators have yet to determine the cause of the crash. Authorities noted eyewitnesses reported the motorcycle was traveling at high speeds prior to the incident.

The highway was closed for about three hours while officials conducted the investigation. Emergency assistance was provided by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Jackson County Fire, and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
