A motorcycle crash on Route 66 near Saner Road resulted in one fatality and one injury Monday evening, authorities said.
John Russell Forbes IV, 17, of East Hampton, died in the incident that occurred just before 6 p.m., according to Connecticut State Police.
Forbes was eastbound on a Harley Davidson when he collided with a Chevrolet Silverado, also traveling east. The pickup truck was making a left turn onto Saner Road when Forbes attempted to pass and struck it.
Forbes lost control of his motorcycle and was pronounced dead at the scene. The 69-year-old driver of the Silverado was taken to an area hospital for evaluation of possible injuries.
Authorities are investigating the crash. No further details have been released. Lane closures were in effect during the investigation and cleanup.
