Fatal Crash In Swansea Leaves Motorcyclist Critically Injured

Swansea, MA – A motorcycle rider sustained life-threatening injuries in a crash involving a pickup truck on Saturday evening. The incident occurred at approximately 6:15 p.m. on Grand Army of the Republic Highway.

According to the Swansea Police Department, multiple 911 calls alerted officers to the collision, which involved a motorcycle and a pickup truck. The motorcyclist, identified as Eric Pagan, was transported to Rhode Island Hospital in critical condition. A passenger in the pickup truck suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital, while the driver was evaluated at the scene but did not require further medical attention.

Emergency response included the Swansea Fire Department, Swansea Ambulance Corps, and the Somerset Fire Department Ambulance.

Pagan, a barber at City Clippers in Fall River, is reported to be in stable condition. His family shared that he is a devoted father and husband, urging others to be cautious while riding. Pagan recently welcomed a new addition to his family.

The crash is under investigation by the Swansea Police Patrol Division, Detective Division, and Collision Reconstruction Unit. Lane closures were in place during the response and investigation.
