Fatal Motorcycle Crash Occurs in Kansas City’s Northland

Motorcycle Collision Near KCI Claims One Life, Leaves Another Critically Injured

KANSAS CITY, MO — One motorcyclist is dead and another is critically injured following a collision near Kansas City International Airport at approximately 3:40 a.m. on Sunday.

According to the Kansas City Police Department, the collision occurred on NW Interurban Road when a Honda motorcycle lost control on a curve and struck a Harley-Davidson motorcycle just south of NW 128th Street. Both riders were not wearing helmets at the time of the crash.

The driver of the Honda motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene, while the Harley-Davidson rider was transported to a hospital in critical condition. Authorities confirmed that both riders were the seventh and eighth motorcyclists seriously injured or killed in the Kansas City area this month.

Emergency response included personnel from the Kansas City Police Department and local medical aid. An investigation into the incident is ongoing, and lane closures were enacted to facilitate the response. No further details have been released regarding the identities of the victims.

Authorities continue to remind motorcyclists of the importance of wearing helmets and practicing safe riding.
