TULSA, Okla. — Two individuals have died following a motorcycle and SUV collision at East 81st Street and South Sheridan Road on New Year’s Eve.
The incident occurred around 8:40 p.m. when a motorcycle reportedly sped through red lights and collided with a Lexus SUV as it was turning onto East 81st Street. The force of the impact flipped the SUV onto its side, according to authorities.
The motorcycle driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the SUV was transported to a local hospital in critical condition but later succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash. Four other passengers in the SUV sustained minor injuries.
The Tulsa Police Department’s Advanced Traffic Investigators are examining evidence, including skid marks and vehicle data, to reconstruct the accident.
