A Braselton man has been charged with first-degree vehicular homicide and DUI following a motorcycle accident that killed his son on Sunday.
The Georgia State Patrol reported the incident occurred at approximately 2:41 p.m. on Georgia 53 in Jackson County. According to authorities, 28-year-old McClain Davey Ptacek lost control of his motorcycle while navigating a curve and collided with a utility pole.
Both Ptacek and his 9-year-old son, Wyatt McClain Ptacek, were transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville. Wyatt was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Emergency responders from multiple agencies attended the scene, and an investigation into the accident is ongoing. No additional injuries have been reported.
