An accident involving a motorcycle and a car on Route 182 in Hancock resulted in the death of a local man on Friday, July 24.
The incident occurred in the afternoon, leading to significant lane closures while emergency responders managed the scene. According to the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department, Tyler Grey, 32, of Franklin, was riding a Buell motorcycle northbound when the crash occurred.
Harold Moore, 2025, from Mariaville, was driving a Hyundai Sonata westbound on Coffin Road. As Moore made a left turn onto Route 182, the vehicles collided. Authorities confirmed that Mr. Moore and his two passengers were uninjured.
Mr. Grey sustained severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Emergency responders included the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department, Maine State Police, and Fire Departments from several nearby towns.
Northern Light Ambulance Service also provided medical assistance. The accident is currently under investigation, and officials are reconstructing the crash.
