A Fulton man was airlifted to University Hospital following a motorcycle crash in Audrain County on Tuesday afternoon.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) reported the incident occurred at 2:12 p.m. on U.S. 54, west of County Road 541. Authorities said the 36-year-old man was riding a 2003 Honda VTX1300 motorcycle when he failed to navigate a curve, which caused him to run onto the shoulder.
The motorcycle overturned, resulting in the rider being ejected and skidding on its side. The man sustained serious injuries but was reported to be wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Emergency response included airlift assistance, and no other vehicles were involved. The roadway was not reported closed following the incident, and further investigation is ongoing, according to MSHP.
