Motorcycle Crash in Missouri Results in $1.25 Million Settlement

ST. LOUIS, MO – Ashley Javaux secured a $1.25 million settlement following a motorcycle crash that occurred when her companion lost control of the vehicle.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident transpired as the motorcycle, operated by Michael O’Hara, was traveling too fast for a curve, crossing into the opposite lane before leaving the roadway in February. The motorcycle struck the ground after going airborne, resulting in severe injuries for Javaux.

Javaux underwent extensive treatment, including multiple surgeries for facial, dental, and foot injuries, costing over $159,000 in medical expenses. Her injury-related lost wages were estimated at a minimum of $20,000.

Authorities confirmed that the crash report detailed two significant impacts, with the motorcycle initially hitting the road and subsequently overturning after crossing another roadway.

Represented by Brent Sumner and Lindsay Rakers of the Sumner Law Group, Javaux’s legal team emphasized the severity of her injuries and ongoing medical needs, which include additional surgical procedures.

The case settled without proceeding to trial, with State Farm representing the defendant.
