A 73-year-old man from Holland suffered critical injuries in a motorcycle crash in Grand Haven Saturday morning.
According to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office, deputies and Grand Haven Township firefighters responded at 10:57 a.m. on US-31 near 152nd Avenue. Preliminary investigations revealed that the motorcyclist was heading north on US-31 when a 46-year-old man from West Olive entered the highway from 152nd Avenue in a pickup truck pulling a trailer.
Authorities said the pickup entered the motorcycle’s path, forcing the rider to lay down the motorcycle before colliding with the truck. The motorcyclist was transported to the hospital in critical condition, while the pickup driver was unharmed.
Northbound US-31 was temporarily closed following the incident but has since reopened. The investigation is ongoing.
