SHAWNEE COUNTY — A motorcycle accident claimed the life of a 24-year-old man in Shawnee County on Wednesday morning.
Authorities said the crash occurred near SW 41 Street and SW Crawford Road shortly after 11 a.m. The motorcycle, driven by Alfred L. Phillips of Topeka, was found by investigators at the scene. Phillips was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Phillips was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
A portion of SW K-4 Highway was temporarily closed as investigators processed the scene. The incident remains under investigation.
