NEWTON — A 20-year-old man from Newton died Sunday after a motorcycle crash on Thursday night.
Oswaldo Puentes-Rodriguez was riding in the 300 block of W. 12th Street when he was thrown from his motorcycle at approximately 8:23 p.m., according to the Harvey County Sheriff’s Office.
Emergency responders transported Puentes-Rodriguez to Wesley Medical Center in extremely critical condition. He succumbed to his injuries three days later.
Preliminary reports indicate that Puentes-Rodriguez was accelerating rapidly through a curve before losing control. Authorities noted that he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
The incident remains under investigation.
