Loudoun County Transit Announces Commuter Bus Service Adjustments Starting April 1, 2026
Loudoun County Transit will implement significant commuter bus service changes effective April 1, 2026, including a relocation of service and fare reductions.
According to the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors, the commuter bus service will move from the Dulles Transit Center to the Loudoun Gateway Metrorail Station, enhancing connectivity with the Silver Line and allowing free parking for SmarTrip card users returning in the evening.
Passengers boarding the commuter bus in the morning should use designated bus shelters at Loudoun Gateway: Route 484 at Bus Shelter B, Route 482 at Bus Shelter C, and Routes 481 and 486 at Bus Shelter D.
Additionally, bus service will permanently discontinue pickups at the I & 15th Street, NW location in Washington, D.C., due to construction. New pickup locations include the bus shelter at I & 14th Street, NW for Routes 881, 883, 884, 885, and 886, and mid-block on I St NW between 13th and 14th Streets for Route 681.
Starting April 1, a 50% fare discount will be available for seniors aged 65 and older and individuals with disabilities using SmarTrip cards. Cash payments will not qualify for this discount.
