LA PLATA, Md. — A 20-year-old man was airlifted to a trauma center following a motorcycle crash Saturday afternoon in La Plata.
The incident occurred around 3:45 p.m. on June 13, 2026, at the intersection of Oliver Shop Road and Crescent Run Street. According to 911 callers, the motorcyclist flipped the bike but was reportedly walking around after the crash.
Emergency crews evaluated the rider and subsequently requested a medevac. Maryland State Police Aviation Command Trooper 2 airlifted the individual to UM Capital Region Medical Center.
Oliver Shop Road was closed in both directions, with traffic blocked from Route 6, as emergency personnel responded to the scene. Authorities are currently investigating the crash.
