Elijah Thweatt Killed in Montgomery County Motorcycle Accident at Milestone Manor Lane and Fredrick Road

Montgomery County, MD (July 11, 2023) – A 24-year-old rider died Sunday evening after his motorcycle collided with another vehicle at an intersection in Gaithersburg, Maryland, according to a news release by the Montgomery County Department of Police.
The deadly collision was reported at about 6:13 p.m. Sunday, July 9, at the intersection of Milestone Manor Lane and Fredrick Road.
According to the news release, Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) detectives responded to the scene. They determined that Elijah Isaiah Shand Thweatt, 24, of Clarksburg, was riding a black 2021 Yamaha MT09 motorcycle northbound on Fredrick Road approaching the intersection with Milestone Manor Lane when, for unknown reasons, he crashed into a left turning white 2017 Toyota Prius.
Thweatt was transported to an area hospital, where he was declared dead. The driver of the Prius and a passenger sustained minor injuries in the incident and were treated at an area hospital.
No additional details regarding the collision were provided.
The incident remains under investigation.
