Branchburg, NJ. – A man was killed in a motorcycle on Wednesday afternoon near Branchburg in Somerset County.
At around 3:08 p.m., Branchburg police responded to reports of a collision on Route 202 North at Old York Road (Centerville).
According to a preliminary investigation, an SUV was making a left turn onto Old York Road from Route 202 South when it struck a motorcycle traveling northbound on Route 202.
The motorcyclist, identified only as a 36-year-old man from Basking Ridge, was ejected from the bike and suffered serious injuries.
Paramedics from Branchburg Rescue Squad EMS and Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital arrived at the scene and rendered aid to the injured rider.
Sadly, the man succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The SUV driver, a 37-year-old woman from Bedminster, was evaluated at the scene and released.
A juvenile occupant of the car was taken to Morristown Memorial Hospital
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
