Male Rider Killed in Route 9 Collision at Chery Choke Road in Malta, New York

Malta, N.Y (July 1, 2023) – Authorities are investigating a two-vehicle traffic collision that left a motorcyclist with fatal injuries at an intersection in Malta Friday afternoon, according to a police report.

The deadly crash occurred around 3:45 p.m. at the intersection of Route 9 and Chery Choke Road and involved a motorcycle and an SUV.

As per the authorities, the rider was transported to Saratoga Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The name of the deceased was not immediately released.

The driver of the sport utility vehicle sustained minor injuries in the crash.

Reportedly, detours were put in place, and surrounding roads shut down as officers investigated the incident.

All roads have since reopened. The incident remains under investigation.
