Manchester Township, NJ (October 6, 2025) – Two individuals were hospitalized following a motorcycle and SUV collision on Saturday, October 4.
The crash occurred at approximately 5:37 p.m. at the intersection of Route 571 and Ridgeway Boulevard. According to authorities, 59-year-old Erik Palmblad of Toms River was riding a 2016 Indian Chief motorcycle west on Route 571 when he collided with a 2013 Honda CR-V driven by 70-year-old Lizzie Richardson of Manchester, who was heading south on Ridgeway Boulevard.
Authorities reported that Richardson entered the intersection, driving into Palmblad’s path. The collision propelled Palmblad from his motorcycle, while Richardson was trapped inside her vehicle and required extrication by emergency crews.
Both Palmblad and Richardson were transported to Community Medical Center in Toms River for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities closed the area for several hours to facilitate the investigation and vehicle removal by Accurate Towing. Preliminary findings indicate that failure to stop at a stop sign and failure to yield the right of way contributed to the accident. The investigation is being conducted by Patrolman Jesse Hoydis of the Traffic Safety Unit.
