Trooper Killed in Motorcycle Crash in Grafton

GRAFTON, MA — Massachusetts State Police Trooper Jacob Mick, 31, died in an off-duty motorcycle accident on Route 122 at approximately 6 p.m. Sunday.

According to the Worcester District Attorney’s office, Mick was riding his motorcycle when he collided with a car near Milford Road. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle was transported to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester with non-life-threatening injuries.

Trooper Mick, a Northboro native, was a member of the 88th Recruit Training Troop and had graduated from the State Police Academy earlier in 2023. He is survived by his wife and infant daughter.

In a statement, Massachusetts State Police Colonel Geoffrey said, “We mourn Trooper Jacob Mick and extend our deepest sympathies to his family and all who loved him. He was a proud Trooper and public servant.”

The Worcester County District Attorney’s office is conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash. State Representative David Muradian indicated there will be a meeting this week with MassDOT and local leaders to discuss safety measures at the intersection.

Residents have expressed concerns over safety at the intersection, citing multiple accidents in the past year. Funeral arrangements for Trooper Mick have yet to be announced.
