(Rock Port) — A Tarkio man was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident on U.S. Highway 136 in Atchison County on May 28.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the incident occurred shortly before 10:30 p.m., approximately one mile west of Rock Port. A 50-year-old male operator of a 2017 Harley Davidson was eastbound in a construction zone when he crossed the centerline and lost control of the motorcycle, causing it to slide. The driver was ejected, and the motorcycle came to rest facing north in the westbound lanes.
Emergency response included Atchison Holt EMS, who transported the driver to Grape Memorial Hospital in Hamburg for treatment of serious injuries. The Atchison County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing, and lane closures were implemented following the accident.
