LEON, W.Va. (WSAZ) – A motorcycle accident on State Route 62 resulted in one fatality and one critical injury Sunday morning.
The incident occurred around 11 a.m. when a motorcycle collided with a passenger vehicle. According to the Mason County Emergency Services Director, the motorcyclist, Leroy Brothers of Fraziers Bottom, died at the scene.
One other individual was transported to the hospital in critical condition. Authorities reported that an elderly woman failed to yield, resulting in the crash.
The accident is under investigation, and deputies indicated the motorcyclist was not at fault.
Deputies are stressing the importance of seatbelt use and safe driving, following multiple recent fatal crashes in the region.
