MECHANICSVILLE — A 26-year-old motorcyclist from Drayden is in critical condition following a collision with a car on December 13, 2025.
At approximately 4:48 p.m., a 2019 Chevrolet Impala, driven by 35-year-old Orrin Stacy of Mechanicsville, was traveling eastbound on Cedar Grove Street. The Impala attempted a left turn onto southbound Three Notch Road, failing to yield the right of way and entering the path of a 2002 Yamaha YZF600R motorcycle operated by Darius Jackson-Jordan.
The motorcycle struck the Impala, resulting in life-threatening injuries to Jackson-Jordan. He was airlifted by Maryland State Police Aviation Command Trooper 7 to a regional trauma center, where he remains in critical condition as of December 15, 2025. No injuries were reported for Stacy.
The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Collision Reconstruction Unit responded to the scene and is conducting the investigation. Preliminary findings indicate speed was not a contributing factor.
Authorities closed southbound Three Notch Road for several hours for emergency response and initial investigation. A landing zone for Trooper 7 was established, likely at the Mechanicsville Volunteer Fire Department.
The Sheriff’s Office is seeking witnesses. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Corporal Rachael Owens at 301-475-4200, extension 8108, or via email at rachael.owens@stmaryscountymd.gov.
No charges have been announced as the investigation continues.
