CHAMBERLAIN, SD — A 71-year-old man from Chicago died in a single-vehicle motorcycle crash on I-90 Friday afternoon.
According to the South Dakota Department of Public Safety, the incident occurred at approximately 2:20 p.m. near mile marker 268, when the driver of a 2014 Harley Davidson FLHTCU was traveling westbound. Witnesses reported that the motorcycle began to wobble before the driver lost control and entered the ditch.
Emergency responders transported the driver to Chamberlain Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The South Dakota Highway Patrol is conducting an investigation into the circumstances of the crash.
The identity of the deceased has not been released pending notification of family members. Authorities stated that all information currently available is preliminary.
