Motorcycle crash north of Moose Pass on Seward Highway leaves one dead.

A motorcyclist was killed in a crash on the Seward Highway near Moose Pass on Sunday afternoon, according to Alaska State Troopers.

The motorcyclist rear-ended another vehicle at Mile 42, south of Summit Lake, at approximately 1:18 p.m., authorities said.

The identity of the motorcyclist has not been released.

Both lanes of the highway have since reopened, according to AST spokeswoman Megan Peters.

The incident is under investigation. No further details on injuries to other drivers or vehicle types were provided.
