RED RIVER PARISH, La. (KSLA) – According to the Louisiana State Police, a fatal motorcycle crash occurred on Friday, May 28, shortly before 10 p.m.
The incident took place on WPA Road, just north of LA Hwy 786, involving a 2019 Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
Authorities reported that the motorcycle, operated by 47-year-old Kenneth Tilley of Coushatta, was traveling southbound at a high speed when he lost control, veering off the road and striking a tree.
Both Tilley and his passenger, 39-year-old Stephanie Bullock of Coushatta, were ejected from the motorcycle and subsequently transported to local hospitals.
Tilley, who was not wearing a helmet, succumbed to his injuries. Bullock also was not wearing a helmet but sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Impairment and speed are suspected factors in the crash, and a toxicology sample has been obtained for further analysis.
The investigation into the crash remains ongoing, and authorities reiterated the importance of helmet use, as DOT-approved helmets are required by law for all motorcycle riders.
