HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) — A motorcycle crash in Aynor on Saturday night resulted in one fatality and the arrest of the driver.
Horry County Fire Rescue (HCFR) responded to the scene at approximately 9:30 p.m. near Bud Graham Road and 7th Avenue.
The 44-year-old driver, Ryan Carl Peavy, was heading east on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle when he lost control, crossed the center line, and veered off the roadway, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
The female passenger, identified as 45-year-old Melissa Lubrico of Galivants Ferry, was transported to a local hospital. She succumbed to her injuries on Tuesday, officials confirmed.
Peavy has been charged with driving under the influence and two counts of hit and run, one of which involves death. He is currently under home detention on bond.
