Motorcyclist dies and two others hospitalized in Granger Township crash.

GRANGER TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WOIO) – A motorcyclist died following a two-vehicle crash Sunday at 11 a.m. on State Route 94, according to the Medina County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash occurred in the 4900 block of State Route 94 near Ridge Road, involving a 2014 Jeep Patriot and a 2009 Yamaha VMAX motorcycle.

The Jeep was driven by an 18-year-old from Doylestown with a juvenile passenger, while the motorcycle was operated by a 56-year-old man from Akron.

Authorities said the motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.

Preliminary investigations revealed the Jeep exited a private business driveway traveling southbound, while the motorcycle, heading northbound, crossed left of center and struck the Jeep.

Granger Fire & Rescue, Sharon Fire & Rescue, and Medina County Park District Police responded to the scene.

The motorcyclist was transported to Akron General Hospital where he later died from his injuries. The Jeep driver and passenger were taken to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities stated it remains unclear if drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.

The Medina County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an ongoing investigation into the incident.
