Motorcyclist dies in crash in Wilmington, Delaware, police report.

WILMINGTON, DE — A 38-year-old man was killed in a motorcycle crash on Limestone Road at Ocheltree Lane around 1 p.m. on Saturday, according to Delaware State Police.

The motorcyclist was traveling northbound when a Honda Accord, driven by a 77-year-old woman from Edgewood, Maryland, attempted to turn left onto Ocheltree Lane from the southbound lanes. Authorities said the motorcyclist laid the motorcycle down in an effort to avoid the collision, but he was ejected when the motorcycle slid into the Honda.

The man was pronounced dead at the hospital; his identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. He was wearing a helmet and had a green light at the time of the incident. The Honda Accord was reportedly under a red blinking arrow.

The driver of the Honda was not injured. An investigation is ongoing, but no charges have been filed at this time, authorities said.

Emergency services responded to the scene; the crash resulted in lane closures on Limestone Road while the investigation was conducted.
