MARION COUNTY, Fla. —
A motorcyclist was killed in a crash involving an SUV on County Road 484 on Monday night, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. near the I-75 overpass, as the SUV was traveling west while the motorcycle was headed east.
Authorities said the SUV attempted a left turn onto the southbound ramp of I-75, colliding with the motorcycle in a “t-bone” fashion.
The motorcyclist, a 33-year-old male from Orlando, was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. The SUV driver, a 42-year-old male from New York, reported no injuries.
The on-ramp to I-75 was closed for several hours following the crash. An investigation is ongoing, and officials have not confirmed whether the SUV driver remained at the scene or if any citations were issued.
