MURRAY, Utah (KUTV) — A motorcyclist died in a crash near Intermountain Medical Center on Wednesday afternoon.
The incident occurred around 2:41 p.m. when the motorcyclist, a man in his mid to late 20s, was traveling westbound on 5300 South and collided with a vehicle making a left turn onto Intermountain Drive.
Witnesses reported performing CPR until emergency responders arrived, but the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a helmet.
The driver of the turning vehicle was treated for minor injuries at a local hospital.
Authorities stated that impairment is not believed to be a factor; however, the role of speed in the incident remains under investigation.
The westbound lanes of 5300 South will remain closed until approximately 9 p.m. while authorities clear the scene and conduct their investigation.
