DANVILLE, Va. — A motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a car Monday afternoon on South Boston Road, according to the Danville Police Department.
The crash occurred at approximately 12:45 p.m. in the 1300 block, near Danville Regional Airport. Authorities identified the motorcyclist as 40-year-old Nicolas Paul Samuels of Keeling, who was riding a 2012 Harley-Davidson Street Glide westbound when a 2022 Nissan Kicks, driven by 25-year-old Daniel Rashunn Dickerson of Danville, entered his path.
Samuels sustained critical injuries and was transported by ambulance to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Dickerson was also taken for medical treatment; his condition is currently unknown.
Authorities said charges are pending as the investigation continues. The Danville Fire Department and Public Works assisted with traffic control, closing the westbound lanes of South Boston Road for approximately three hours. Virginia State Police are aiding in the investigation.
