WINTER PARK, Fla. — A motorcyclist was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Tuesday morning at the intersection of South Orlando Avenue and Minnesota Avenue.
According to Deputy Chief Lisa Suepat, traffic homicide investigators are currently examining the incident. A suspect believed to be involved has been taken into custody.
Police are in the process of notifying the motorcyclist’s next of kin before releasing further details, including the victim’s identity.
Authorities have not disclosed the identity of the suspect or any potential charges pending further investigation.
The crash resulted in the temporary closure of Orlando Avenue, known as U.S. 17-92, in both directions between Gene Street and Minnesota Avenue, but all lanes have since reopened.
