A Doolittle man was killed in a two-vehicle motorcycle crash Thursday afternoon in Phelps County, Missouri.
PHELPS COUNTY, Mo. — A 25-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene following a motorcycle crash involving another vehicle on Highway D near Interstate 44 just before 4 p.m. Thursday.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the motorcycle operator was traveling westbound at a high speed when he entered the eastbound lane in an attempt to navigate a curve. The motorcycle collided with an oncoming vehicle that was attempting to evade the collision.
Emergency responders pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene. The identity of the deceased has not been released pending notification of family.
Authorities reported that the crash led to lane closures on Highway D while an investigation was conducted. No other injuries were reported.
