A 20-year-old man from Tampa died Saturday afternoon following a motorcycle-SUV collision on State Road 54 in Pasco County.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 3:10 p.m. on July 11, 2026. The motorcyclist was riding a Kawasaki westbound at a high rate of speed when a 53-year-old New Port Richey man driving a Chevy Suburban turned left onto Player Drive, entering the motorcycle’s path.
The motorcycle collided with the SUV, resulting in critical injuries for the rider, who was subsequently transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the Suburban sustained no serious injuries.
The Florida Highway Patrol is actively investigating the incident.
