CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. — A motorcyclist was injured following a police pursuit on Interstate 95 in Chesterfield County on Tuesday morning.
According to Virginia State Police, officers first observed the speeding motorcyclist at approximately 7:33 a.m. on County Drive in Prince George County. A traffic stop was attempted, but the motorcyclist fled, leading to a pursuit.
The chase escalated onto Interstate 95 northbound, where the motorcycle crashed near the 60-mile marker, close to Route 10. The injured rider was subsequently airlifted to a local hospital with serious injuries.
Authorities confirmed that the motorcycle was also not displaying a valid license plate at the time of the pursuit.
