Motorcyclist injured in collision with car in Lewiston.

LEWISTON — A motorcyclist sustained serious injuries Monday at 5 p.m. on Sabattus Street following a collision with a car.

Authorities said the crash occurred near Genest Street, across from Bourque’s Market. The motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital; the extent of his injuries is currently unknown. The driver of the involved car, which deployed its airbags, appeared uninjured.

Witnesses reported that both vehicles were traveling in the same direction when the crash occurred. A nearby motorist, identified as Tatum Reynolds, stopped to assist, calling 911 and providing comfort to the motorcyclist until emergency services arrived.

Traffic was disrupted as law enforcement rerouted vehicles away from the crash scene. Officers were interviewing witnesses and investigating the incident.

Further details regarding the victim’s identity and condition have not been released.

In a separate incident around the same time, emergency crews responded to a bicycle accident on Lisbon Street. Witnesses indicated the bicyclist was bleeding from the head. Two additional individuals were treated for dizziness and pain. Authorities stated that investigation of both incidents is ongoing.
