MOUNT VERNON, Iowa — A motorcycle driver suffered minor injuries after being rear-ended by a pickup truck on Highway 1 Thursday night.
At approximately 9:25 p.m., multiple agencies, including the Linn County Sheriff’s Office and Mount Vernon Police and Ambulance, responded to the crash.
According to authorities, the motorcycle was slowing down to pull over when it was struck from behind by the pickup truck.
The motorcyclist was transported to a hospital in Cedar Rapids. A juvenile passenger on the motorcycle was uninjured.
Luis Ramos Torres, the driver of the pickup, received a citation for following the motorcycle too closely.
No further injuries or fatalities were reported, and the investigation is ongoing.
